Reference Number 0000380622 The City of Miami Beach has determined that approximately 400 deep drainage wells throughout the city require maintenance to prevent flooding in low-lying areas. Deep drainage wells are defined as bored, drilled, or dug holes that are used to drain surface fluids, primarily stormwater runoff, into a subsurface. These wells require annual maintenance to achieve the best drainage capacity throughout the city. The Operations Division of the Public Works Department is looking to establish a contract for the regular maintenance of these wells by securing a contractor(s) for this type of work. On June 24, 2020, the City Commission approved the award of a contract pursuant to Invitation to Bid (ITB) 2020-203-WG for deep well cleaning, drainage, system maintenance, and repairs with a three (3) year original term and two (2) additional one (1) year optional renewals. The contract has exhausted all renewal options, and this ITB is intended to replace the expiring contract.
