Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Katy, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for outdoor lighting for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
For Construction of Improvements Including Concrete and Paver Sidewalks, Site Furniture, Lighting, Irrigation, Planting, Fine Grading and Hydromulch. Bidders Shall Submit Two (2) Coptes of the Lid on Exact Copies of the Bid Form Provided. A Certificate of Interested Parties (118 Form 1295) 1295) Must Must Be Returned With Lid. A Cashier's Check or Bidder's Bond Payable to Katy De Velopment Authority in the Amount of Not Less Than Two Percent (2%) of the Bid Submitted, Outlined in the Contract Documents, Masi Accompany the Bid. Bidders Have at Least Five Years of Confirmed Experience on Comparable Stze Projects of a Similar Scope in the Houston Area. The Successful Bidder Receiving Contract Award Must Furnish Performance, Payment, and Maintenance Bonds in the Amount of One Hundred Percent (100%) Each of the Intal Contract Price. Each Such Bond Shall Be Executed by a Corporate Surety Duly Authorized to Do Business in State of Texas The Winning Bed is Decided Not by Low Price but by This Standard "the Responsible Person or Persons That, in the Floard's Judgment, Will Be Most Advantageous the District and Result in the Best and Most Economical Completion of District's Proposed Improvements." the The Owner Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Hids and to Watve Bidding Informalities. a. Under this Contract, Contractor shall furnish all materials, appliances, tools, equipment, transportation, services, and all labor and superintendence necessary for the construction of the Work as described in these Technical Specifications and as shown on the Plans. The completed installation shall not lack any part that can be reasonably implied as necessary to its proper functioning or any subsidiary item that is customarily furnished, and Contractor shall deliver the installation to Owner in operating condition. b. The Work, in general, under this Contract includes the purchase, installation, and construction of all structures, equipment, and materials, including appurtenances, as indicated on the Plans. Major items of construction and services required are designated as follows: (1) Install and adjust waterlines, valves, valve boxes, flushing valves, fittings, and appurtenances; (2) Construct and adjust sanitary sewer, manholes and appurtenances; (3) Repair existing pavement affected; (4) Furnish and install all subsidiary items as necessary to complete the project; (5) Perform testing as specified on installed lines; and (6) Clean-up project area upon completion. A. General: The Scope of Work for this Project shall consist of providing all supplies, support services, data and labor, tools, materials, equipment, supervision, construction and all else required to prepare the Site and construct the project as described and indicated in and in accordance with the Contract Documents. B. Project Scope: The Work shall include, but not be limited to, the following major items, to the extent specified and indicated. 1. Contractor is requested to visit the project site prior to placing Bids and observe all conditions that may impact their pricing of work. 2. Provide administration and construction support services to complete the work. 3. Coordination with utility owners and governing agencies. Portions of this project are within utility easements. 4. Coordination and scheduling with all applicable contractors involved in the project area working under separate contract. 5. Strip entire site as directed on plans of existing weeds, trees and debris as required to properly begin earthwork. 6. Provide, install, inspect and maintain Pollution Prevention measures as per standard TCEQ construction site requirements. 7. Rough grade as required for surface drainage, import soil as required. 8. Provide fine grading operations and patch / repair existing turf conditions as required. 9. Provide and install decorative concrete sidewalks as designated on the drawings. 10. Provide and install paver walks as indicated in the drawings and specifications. 11. Provide and install concrete unit pavers, including edge restraints, concrete sub base and aggregate setting bed, as designated on the drawings. 12. Provide and install footings and conduit for pedestrian lights and bollards. 13. Provide and install electrical system, complete and in place, to power pedestrian lights, bollard lights, power receptacles and irrigation system. 14. Provide and install, complete and in place, pedestrian light pole fixtures and bollard lights. 15. Provide and install all planting (unit price costs for plant material shall include all required bed preparation, fertilization, and mulching), bed preparation and mulch. 16. Provide and install complete and operable automatic irrigation system. Provide As-Built Drawings. 17. Provide and install all solid sod and hydromulch as required and designated on drawings. 18. Provide overseeding of all grassed landscape areas as per planting plans, details, notes and special requirements for overseeding work. 19. Contractor shall mow, edge, weed eat, clean up trash and debris on the project site as needed to keep it clean and presentable commencing the day the contractor mobilizes. 20. Provide Maintenance and Warranty as per specifications. 21. Execute application for and procurement of all necessary permits with governing institutions; this project falls in the City of Katy. 22. Provide Installation Floater as specified in the specifications. 23. Provide Bid Bond with Bid in the amount of 2 % of your Lump Sum Bid. 24. Provide Payment and Performance Bonds for one hundred percent (100%) of project cost. 25. Contractor is responsible for commencing work upon receiving Notice to Proceed and will complete all work as shown on plans within the contract days allocated for this job. 26. No work shall commence on site prior to approval in field. If an issue arises / needs clarification, not shown on plans it is the contractor's responsibility to notify the Landscape Architect in writing. If field corrections are required and contractor did not notify the Landscape Architect in writing, adjustments to correct the issue will be the contractor's responsibility at no additional cost to the project. 27. Bid provided shall be qualified inclusive of all items shown within plan set and cover cost of permits, materials, labor, and installation. Exclusions added by contractor will not be accepted or included in the contract documents. Contractor is responsible for formally submitting RFI during the bid period for clarifications regarding bid set documents, drawings, specifications, or project conditions. 28. Contractor shall complete one mowing and have a full stand of grass, 95% turf coverage with no bare areas in excess of 6 inches diameter, before substantial completion will be granted. This Section specifies the requirements for providing protection, support, and maintenance of existing utilities within, adjacent to, or affected by the work under this Contract. All work on these drawings shall be done in strict accordance with these specifications. All work fairly implied as essential to the complete functioning of the electrical systems shown on the Drawings and Specifications shall be completed as part of the work of this Division unless specifically stated otherwise. It is the intention of the Drawings and Specifications to establish the types of the systems, but not set forth each item essential to the functioning of the system. In case of doubt as to the work intended, or in the event of amplifications of clarification thereof, the Contractor shall call upon the Architect for supplementary instructions, Drawings, etc. A. Provide all exterior planting as shown on the drawings or inferable there from and/or as specified in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. B. These specifications include standards necessary for and incidental to the execution and completion of planting, including hauling and spreading of topsoil, and finished grading as indicated on the prepared drawings and specified herein. C. Protection of existing features. During construction, protect all existing trees, shrubs, and other specified vegetation, site features and improvements, structures, and utilities specified herein and/or on submitted drawings. Removal or destruction of existing plantings is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the owner.
