The City of Sulphur Springs is now accepting bids for: Thermo Water and Sewer Bores. The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to provide bore and 36" casing for a 18" water line and 21" sewer line at the former Thermo Mine. Accompanied with each bid will be a certified or cashier's check, or an acceptable bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid. This bid bond may be forfeited to the City if the bidder should fail to enter into a contract within 15 days of the bid award or withdraw his bid after bids have been opened. The bid bond will be valid for ninety (90) days following the opening of the bids. The bid opening and award will be open to the bidders and the public The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities in bidding. In case of lack of clarity in stating prices, the City reserves the right to consider the most advantageous bid thereof, or reject the bid. Qualified DBE firms are encouraged to submit bids. No questions will be answered by city staff after 04/08/2025 1:00 P.M. today. Scope of Work The work specified in this section consists of furnishing and installing underground utilities using guided horizontal boring. This work shall include all services, equipment, materials, and labor for the complete and proper installation to the lines and grades as shown on the plans, testing, restoration of underground utilities and environmental protection and restoration. Contractor will provide all casing for the Bore. Contractor will be responsible for providing and maintaining all trench safety systems including shoring at all times during construction. Contractor will be responsible for survey control, digging the bore pits, and installing the casing to the lines and grades shown on the plans. Casing shall be cut and welded by the Contactor as needed. Contractor will perform backfill operations. Measurement and payment will be based on the length of pipe placed at the unit prices bid.
