Please see attached a memorandum detailing the implementation of the Red Zone Green Zone Program. Effective June 1, 2025, Open Line or Red Zone working will be prohibited on the Lakeshore West, and Lakeshore East corridors and on the Weston Subdivision of the Kitchener Line, Metrolinx territory. An exemption process will be in place where Green Zone working is not possible or for legacy projects who are unable to transition prior to completion. Expansion of this method of protection is targeted for all remaining rail corridors on September 2, 2025. Details on the program implementation and supporting resources e.g., toolkits, standard, training etc. will be made available in mid-April. Kindly submit all inquiries and questions to greenzoneworking@metrolinx.com. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.metrolinx.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
