Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Pavillion, Wyoming. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Introduction The Board of Fremont County Commissioners is requesting proposals from qualified engineering firms for providing engineering design services to produce a shovel ready set of plans and specifications for the replacement of a bridge located on Gabes Road, near the Intersection of Gabes Road and Highway 26, south of Ocen Lake also known as Structure KEH). The design services should include hydraulic analysis of the canal channel; a geotechnical investigation and report; environmental documentation and permitting; assembling final designs plans and specification; assembling project cost estimates; establishing right-of-ways and easements; and producing a shovel-ready set of bid documents. The bridge design should include all required documentation so that the new structure can be included in the FHWA National Bridge Inventory and should plan on utilizing the State of Wyoming Department of Transportation Bridge Program for providing a cursory review of the required documentation. Proposals should include a structure selection with recommendations for the type of structure that the Firm believes will best fit replacement of the existing structure at this existing location. Structure types may include, but are not limited to free spanning bridges, box culverts, precast arches, corrugate metal arches, structural plate arches, and/or any other similar structural solutions available. The recommendation should include reasoning as to why the Firm has selected the proposed structure. The design should include any roadway improvements that may be required to accommodate the proposed structure selected and safety improvements and/or upgrades that account for the hazards present at the canal crossing, immediately adjacent to the structure. Safety improvements for the east-west portion of Gabes Road that runs adjacent to the canal are not included in this scope of work. Realignment Gabes Road and relocation of the structure is also not something that should be included in proposals. A shelf ready set of Bidding Documents should be completed by February 28, 2026.
