Renovation of a mixed-use development in Bakersville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Mitchell County Board of Education (the "Board") announces the requirement for Design-Build services relating to the renovation, repair, and reconstruction of the buildings and other improvements located at 72 Ledger School Road, Bakersville, NC 28705 for the purposes of serving as the Mitchell County Schools (MCS) central administrative offices (the "Project"). The existing building, constructed in 1950, has far exceeded its useful life and has several de ficiencies in several areas, including space and energy efficiency and availability. The Board's administration was able to secure grant funding for the full amount of this Project. The Board is hereby soliciting responses from capable and experienced construction management firms from which a Design-Builder will be selected to provide Design-Build services, including but not limited to, preconstruction/cost estimation, bidding/procurement, and construction services for a central administrative offices building of approximately 15,000 square feet; the full scope of which is still to be determined based on the Project budget and approval by the Board of Education.
