This work will include but not limited to tree trimming/pruning, tree removal, tree preservation, and emergency work. The City of North Charleston intends to obtain Arborist Services for Tree work throughout the City of North Charleston. This could include but not limited to residential neighborhoods and business streets. No work will be included in any residential backyard. No tree will be removed for any reason without permission from the City of North Charleston. a. The guidelines exhibited in ANSI will be followed with pertaining to any work asked of the contractor. b. The required licensing shall be obtained before work is done. c. The vendor must not damage the lawns or property of the residents in the neighborhood. d. The Contractor will be responsible for daily debris removal and clean up after the work is done for the day. No debris will be allowed to be left onsite. Debris may be chipped or loaded to be hauled off. Contracts will not blow sawdust or chipped debris back into the public or residential property. e. This work includes but not limited to, tree pruning, tree removal, stump removal. The City reserves the right to reject any and all Qualified Statements when such rejection is in the best interest of the City, to reject any Firm who has previously failed to perform properly, or complete on time contracts of a similar nature, and to reject any firm that is not, in the opinion of the City, in a position to provide the required services. LICENSES: The successful Bidder, including any subcontractors, will be required to obtain a Business License from the City of North Charleston prior to beginning work, if said Bidder does not have a current license. The Contractor or a permanent member of the Contractor's staff shall be licensed to perform Arborist Services. A copy of the individual's certification and or license shall be submitted with the bid response and shall be maintained current throughout the Contract period. AWARD OF CONTRACT: The term of the Agreement shall commence on May 1, 2025, and shall continue in effect for an initial three (03) year period, with the option to continue services for up to two (02) additional years on a yearly basis. Upon completion of the initial term of the Agreement, and again on each subsequent anniversary date, the Agreement shall be automatically renewed for additional one year periods unless either party shall give written notice to the other, at least ninety (90) consecutive calendar days prior to the expiration of the initial term or any renewal thereof, that the Agreement shall not be so extended. The total Contract period shall not exceed five (05) years. Required services will be for an Indefinite Quantity and each individual project will be for a negotiated price. The firm(s) will be required to provide a current fee schedule upon award of the Contract and each anniversary date thereafter. Said schedule to be used as the basis for negotiating fees for each project. The City reserves the right to initiate additional Requests for Qualifications and/or select other Firms for any specific project as deemed necessary.
