The Northwest Territories Power Corporation ("NTPC") is requesting Proposals from qualified bidders ("Proponents") to provide engineering design services assessing flood handling and potential design upgrades at its hydro dams at Snare & Taltson. General 1 Assess dam consequence classifications for NTPC's three hydro systems (Snare, Taltson, Bluefish) based on Canadian Dam Association's (CDA) dam classification criteria found in the dam safety guidelines 2013 edition. This assessment should not consider internal owner economic considerations as is stated in the 2013 guidelines. 2 Recommend inflow design flood values based on associated dam classifications and whether to set higher inflow desgin floods (IDFs) based on NTPC's internal economic considerations or societal impacts. 3 Assess flood handling ability for recommended IDFs and work on feasible design options for improvements (freeboard improvements, fuse plugs, spillway improvements, etc.) Proponent will need to produce issued for consutruction (IFC) drawings and scope of work for future construction work.
