This bid alternate also includes placement of nominal 2 inches of SCDOT Type C asphalt pavement on the portion of existing paved shoulders to remain, pavement demolition by milling of remaining failed shoulder pavement, runway grooving, pavement markings and erosion control. Base Bid: Alternate No. 2 (Asphalt) - This bid alternate consists primarily of placing a 4-inch layer of FAA P-401 bituminous pavement over the existing asphalt pavement after it has been milled 0-4 inches for precise grade correction. This bid alternate also includes placement of nominal 2 inches of SCDOT Type C asphalt pavement on the portion of existing paved shoulders to remain, pavement demolition by milling of remaining failed shoulder pavement, runway grooving, pavement markings and erosion control.
