Remodeling of a municipal facility in Bellmore, New York. Conceptual plans call for the remodel of a municipal facility.
All bidders duly submitting a proposal accompanied by the requisite bid security, requesting their deposit be refunded, must return the plans in usable condition within 20 days after the bid opening to obtain a refund in accordance with Section 102 of the General Municipal Law. NON-BIDDERS WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. All bids must be accompanied by either a) a certified check made payable to "Bellmore Fire District" in the amount of 5% of the bid price, or b) a bond with sufficient sureties to be approved by the "Bellmore Fire District" in the amount of 5% of the bid price. If the bid is accepted, the bidder will enter into a contract in accordance with the bid and will furnish a suitable security bond in the sum of the amount of the contract, conditional for the faithful and prompt completion of the work specified in the contract. If the bidder neglects or refuses to execute the contract and furnish the bonds, the deposit of 5% of the bid price shall be forfeited and retained by the Bellmore Fire District as liquidated damages or, in case of a bond, the Bellmore Fire District shall enforce payment of the bond for its benefit. Performance, Labor and Material payment bonds are required and shall be included in the bid price. Exclude from all bids New York State Sales Tax on materials or supplies purchased for this project. Pursuant to Section 220 of the Labor Law, the contract will contain provision that every mechanic, laborer and workman employed in or about the work contemplated by the contract shall be paid not less than the prevailing rate of wage. The Bellmore Fire District reserves the right to waive any informalities in, to accept or reject and or all bids, to award the contract to other than the lowest bidder or to advertise anew if in the judgment of the Bellmore Fire District it is in their best interests to do so.
