Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Lexington, North Carolina. Working plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.
As of July 2, 2025, this is only for design. No plans or timeline for construction have been set. Phase 1 will consist of surveying, design of the complex, design of aquatics center, and grading. Phase 2 will consist of finalizing the designs for both the sports complex and aquatics center, finish rough grading, building of sports complex, all fields, pavilion, bathrooms, install storm water & utilities, and install irrigation. Start building aquatics center, start the installation of lights, roads and curbs. Phase 3 will complete the project. Completion of the sports plex, all fields, and aquatics center. Install fencing, bleachers, and playgrounds. Completion of disc gold courses and cross county course. Installation of lights and finalizing utilities. Completion of RV park and asphalt roads and parking lots. The site/address of the Sports Complex shall be close to 411 River Oaks Lane, Lexington NC or GPS coordinates 80.2788033W, 35.6609236N ( -80.2788033 , 35.6609236). This is a 125+/- acre site sitting along Owen Road, Southmont, NC. Please see the current master plan, attached. For all purchasing questions, please contact Dwayne Childress, Support Services Director, County of Davidson at 336-242-2030 There are a few items that need to be taken in account: All building interiors and exteriors will be low to no maintenance. All buildings shall have a metal roof with no flat roofs and no HVAC on roofs. All buildings need to be designed so that maintenance tasks can easily be completed.
