Site work and paving for a civil project in Decatur, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
**As of March 25, 2026, the project was awarded to A & R Mechanical Contractors - A&R Services, Inc, with an awarded amount of $4,024,880.64** The proposed improvement consists of performing approximately 4,785 feet (Alt 1: 2,338 feet and Alt 2: 2,044 feet) of new 6", 8", and 12" water main installation at various locations throughout the City (S Taylorville Rd, S Fairview Ave, W Legion Dr, Rock Dr, Granite Rd and S Spring Ln). The work also includes testing, pavement removal and replacement, clearing and grubbing, mobilization, traffic control and appurtenant work. All proposals must be accompanied by a BANK DRAFT, CASHIER'S CHECK, OR CERTIFIED CHECK made payable to Treasurer, Decatur, Illinois, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid or BID BOND in the same amount. The following Minority Participation Goals for Public Works Contracts are in effect for this contract: (1) Ten (10) Percent (%) of the total dollar amount of the contract should be performed by minority business enterprises if subcontracting opportunities are available and/or Ten (10) Percent (%) of the total dollar amount of the contract should be for the purchase of goods, material and equipment to Minority Business Enterprises. The Council of the City of Decatur, Illinois, reserves the right to accept, renegotiate or reject any or all proposals and to waive any variance from the requirements of the instructions for bidders. At the discretion of the Council, required items may be submitted after the bid opening if there is sufficient compliance with instructions at the time of the bid opening to permit the City to determine the price bid. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available. No interpretation ofthe meaning ofthe plans, specifications or other pre-bid documents will be made to any Bidder orally.
