Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Sharon Springs, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
SCOPE: Kansas Department of Transportation is seeking competitive bids for Mill and Overlay at the Sharon Springs Subarea. This Project consist of repaving the Sharon Spring Subarea parking lot owned by the Kansas Department of Transportation at 528 N Clark St Sharon Springs, KS 67758. This will be divided into 3" Paving, 2" Paving/1" Transition Milling and 4" Paving/4" Milling. All work for this project shall be performed in a professional and workmanlike manner and be in accordance with the 2015 Kansas Department of Transportation Specifications and latest special provisions active on the date the project is awarded. This is a LUMP SUM project. No price adjustments will be made for asphalt 1. All Prices are per unit and payments will be based upon the actual number or units performed at that price. 2. Mobilization is considered subsidiary to the line items 3. Bond will not be included 4. Surveying, staking, QC testing, grading, removals, traffic control, utilizes location and adjustment or relocation are not included. 5. Mill and inlay 4 inches of existing asphalt pavement and rock base for an estimated surface area of 56,513 square feet at the Sharon Springs Subarea office located at 528 N Clark St, Sharon Springs, Ks. Place 2 lifts of 2 inches on top of surface. Transition 1"mill around all concrete and pave 2" for an estimated surface area of 55,732 square feet. Pave 3" of HMA on Existing surface for a surface area of7,766 square feet. HMA will be commercial grade asphalt according to the Kansas Department of Transportation 2015 Standard Specifications (Some locations may require more asphalt to tie in to new concrete pavement as well as variable milling to lower grade around salt shed etc to create a smooth transition). 6. Millings to be retained by KDOT and hauled by the contractor to a site approximately 1 mile north from the KDOT yard on highway K-27. 7. Work to be completed before November 15, 2026. Overlay will need to begin within two days after the milling operation.
