As of June 5, 2025, the project was awarded to Oreo & Botta Concrete Company with an awarded amount of $20,995. The work will consist of removing and replacing concrete curbs in two areas of the City. The scope will also include traffic control. Time is of the essence. The Services shall be completed in a reasonable manner no later than August 8, 2025. In addition, no more than 30 days shall pass between the start of the project and its completion. The Board of Aldermen, Public Works Supervisor and City Clerk are responsible for evaluation of proposals. Failure to complete the Services by the completion date or within the time period allotted shall result in a reduction in the amount due to the Contractor under this Contract in the amount of $150.00 per day as liquated damages, herein acknowledged to be reasonable compensation for such delay, in addition to any other remedy that the City may have hereunder. The City intends to award a contract based on the bid that, in the Citys sole discretion, is the best, lowest, and most responsive bid that best meets the interests and requirements of the City. The City reserves the right in the Citys sole discretion to reject any and all bids, to waive technicalities or deficiencies in any or all bids, to negotiate with any or all bidders or others for more favorable terms or prices, and to award a contract to other than the bidder submitting the lowest cost bid proposal, with or without negotiation. The City reserves the right not to open a sole bid. Curb Location and Marking Concrete curbs to be removed and replaced and asphalt to be repaired will be marked. The project is split into two sections: o Approximately 160 linear feet of 6" curb along the west side of Boly Lane o Approximately 35 linear feet of 6" curb along the south side of Autumn Leaf Drive Curb Specifications The type of curb to be installed will be a 6" concrete curb with a strength of 3,500 PSI and reinforced with #4 rebar. The curb shall meet the following additional standards: o Curb dimensions and shape shall match the existing adjacent curb at tie-ins. o Saw joint or control join every 10 feet. o Backfill behind curb to match existing grade. o A sawcut will be used in removing the existing curb to preserve a smooth edge with the asphalt roadway. o Four-inch (4") aggregate base in compliance with 2011 Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction Section 304.
