The approximate extent and character of the Work is generally described as follows: Furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the traffic signal installation and associated improvements at the intersection of SR 124 and Jesse Cronic Road. Bidders shall inform themselves concerning Georgia Laws and comply with same. The time allowed for Substantial Completion is 210 consecutive days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Nonrefundable liquidated damages in the amount of $300 per calendar day will be deducted from monies due the Contractor in the event that a portion of the work remains incomplete beyond the agreed upon contract completion date. The official Notice to Proceed is anticipated to be the given to the chosen contractor in early Summer of 2025. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the owner for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection of the OWNER in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the total amount payable by the terms of the contract or, in lieu thereof, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or cash in equal amount. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond for 100% of the contract amount and a payment bond for 100% of the contract amount, with the executed Agreement meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents and executed on the forms attached to the Agreement.
