Renovation of a municipal facility in Arlington, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
**As of August 22, 2025, this project has been awarded. The purpose of this contract is to provide a larger and more purpose-built space for the Arlington passports office to handle the increasing volume of citizens using the Passport Office. Please go to the "Activities" tab to review the details regarding the Pre-Bid meeting and site visit. Question Deadline 05/02/2025 at 1:00 PM CT A. The Sub-Courthouse in Arlington Passport Office Buildout is a partial renovation of the existing expansion space on the 3 rd Floor of the building located at 700 E Abram St, Arlington, TX 76010. The renovated space will have a footprint of 1,152 square feet built out for the purpose of officing the Arlington Passports Office. The unrenovated portion of the expansion space will continue to be used for facility storage. B. The existing building was constructed in 2009. Prior to the start of the project, the County has confirmed the structure is free of Asbestos Containing Materials. C. The renovated space will provide a larger and more purpose-built space for the Arlington passports office to handle the increasing volume of citizens using the Passport Office. D. No exterior construction is anticipated on this project. E. The interior finishes include light gauge metal framing with gypsum board walls and ceilings, suspended acoustical ceiling tile and grid, carpet tile, paint, and solid surfacing. The interior openings include hollow metal and aluminum door frames, hollow metal doors, and plastic laminate clad solid core wood doors. F. Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Protection systems (MEPFE) will modify and tie into existing systems in the building. Electrical will include power and lighting for the new renovations, with special attention paid to the homeruns to emergency power supply. G. The Owner will provide the necessary millwork construction to support the operational equipment of the passport office. The Contractor is to account for all necessary backing and blocking, above counter outlets, and associated coordination. H. Electronic Security Systems include the door access control system, door and hardware that will tie into existing access controls. Necessary data connections will be provided by county (owner) staff. I. No civil work or landscaping work anticipated. Work of this Project is described as a finish out of an existing storage space for a new passport office. B. Work includes general construction and mechanical, electrical and plumbing. C. The Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. Construct Work in stages to accommodate Owner's use of premises during construction period: B. Coordinate construction schedule and operations with the Owner and Architect. C. Schedule the Work to accommodate this requirement.
