The St. Paul Region completed the Regional Recreation Feasibility project. The goal of the project was to understand the feasibility and need for a multipurpose leisure centre within the region. The study revealed and recommended broader facility condition assessments for several existing recreation facilities. In addition, the study identified the need to review the St. Paul Aquatic Centre and determine if the aquatic needs of the region could be met through a renovation of this facility. Facility Condition Assessment Reports are required on the St. Paul Aquatic Centre, St. Paul Visual Arts Centre, and Elk Point Curling Club. The condition assessment reports will include observations of expected functional lifespan of each facility and associated recommendations on critical path replacement/repair items. This includes an in-person assessment and a follow-up report. The condition assessment report would be technical in nature intended for internal use. It will be directly from the engineering firm and the engineering firm design standard will apply. The report will include a review from the following disciplines - Architecture, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering. Of particular importance for the assessment of the St Paul Aquatic's Centre will be an analysis of the waterway (piping). In addition, supply a Concept Plan for the St. Paul Aquatic Centre as well as a Replacement Business Case for the Elk Point-AG Ross Arena.
