Renovation of an educational facility in Columbus, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 69,000-square-foot educational facility.
Masonry Wall Repair - Brick Veneer: The project includes repairs to the exterior masonry façade at the corners of 3 academic buildings on the campus of The Ohio State University (Smith Laboratory, Bolz Hall, and the Animal Sciences Building). The masonry repairs include the replacement of the through-wall flashing, replacement of steel shelf angles/lintels at isolated distress, brick masonry replacement at isolated distress, installation of through-wall anchors, sawcutting of existing and new brick masonry expansion joints, stone patching at isolated distress, joint sealant abatement and installation, masonry cleaning and the application of a clear water repellent. The time for Substantial Completion of all Work is 120 consecutive days from the Notice to Proceed. Trade Estimate Base Bid - $500,000 The EDGE Participation Goal for the Project is 5.0 percent. All Questions should be submitted in writing. The deadline for issuing addenda is November 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. EST. In order to meet the required deadline for addenda, the deadline for submission of bidding questions is November 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. EST. Scope of Work: 1) Removal & reinstallation of sandstone and removal & replacement of brick to allow for cleaning & painting of shelf angle/lintels and installation of new through-wall flashing. (Includes replacement of steel shelf angles/lintels at isolated distress.) 2) Sandstone patching at isolated locations of distress. 3) Brick masonry replacement at areas of isolated distress. 4) Removal & replacement of joint sealant at perimeter of windows. 5) Repoint mortar & install cove joint sealant at jambs of windowsills. 6) Removal & replacement of joint sealant within coping stone head joints. 7) Brick & stone masonry cleaning and application of clear water repellent. 8) Application of reinforced liquid applied waterproofing within copper gutter. (Includes replacement of steel shelf angles/lintels at isolated distress.) b) Brick masonry replacement at isolated distress. c) Mortar repointing. d) Brick & stone masonry cleaning and application of clear water repellent. e) Joint sealant removal and replacement within porcelain enamel fascia, at the perimeter of windows, and at jambs of windowsills. 2) Southeast Corner: a) Mortar repointing within interior CMU within stairwell. b) Sawcutting of new vertical brick masonry expansion joint. c) Removal & replacement of joint sealant within porcelain enamel fascia. d) Brick masonry cleaning and application of clear water repellent. Scope of Work: 1) Mortar repointing within interior CMU within stairwell. 2) Removal & reinstallation of stone copings for installation of new through-wall coping flashing. 3) Removal & replacement of brick to allow for cleaning & painting of shelf angle/lintels and Installation of new through-wall flashing. (Includes replacement of steel shelf angles/lintels at isolated distress.) 4) Brick masonry replacement at areas of isolated distress. 5) Installation of new vertical brick masonry expansion joints. 6) Mortar repointing at isolated distress. 7) Removal & replacement of joint sealant within limestone, at windowsill head joints, and at perimeter of windows. 8) Brick & stone masonry cleaning and application of clear water repellent.
