**As of June 26,2025, the project was awarded to United Paving Corp., with an awarded amount of $422,000.00.** Each bid must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and must be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of a certified check, bank check, or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. No later than forty-five (45) days after the bid opening, the Municipality shall accept bids or reject all bids. After the bid opening, a bid may not be withdrawn prior to the date that is forty-five (45) days after such bid opening. The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and advertise for new bids, if in its opinion the best interest of the Municipality will hereby be promoted. No bid will be considered from any person who is in arrears to the City, or who is in default as surety or otherwise upon any obligation to the City, nor shall a bid be considered from any contractor whose performance on any previous contract with the City has been unsatisfactory in the opinion of the City Council. A contractor whose performance has been unsatisfactory shall not be deemed a responsible qualified bidder. Bidders must satisfy themselves by personal examination of the site of the proposed work and shall not at any time after the submission of a bid or proposal, dispute or complain nor assert that there was any misunderstanding in regard to the nature or amount of the work to be performed. The purpose of this project is to replace a collapsed section of sanitary sewer on West Pine Street between Laurelton and Magnolia Blvd. The collapsed section of sanitary sewer is located between the sanitary sewer manhole (MH #509) at the middle of West Pine Street and Laurelton and sanitary sewer manhole (MH #603) at the intersection of West Pine Street and Magnolia Blvd. The distance between the respective manholes is approximately Four Hundred (400) linear feet. The diameter of the existing pipe is twelve (12) inches. The intent is to replace approximately four hundred (400) linear feet of sanitary sewer main between MH #509 and MH #603. The trench limits (width) shall be ten (1O') linear feet. The Contractor will be required to connect to the existing manholes at each respective intersection. The manholes are in fair to good condition. The contractor will be required to reconnect the existing sanitary sewer house connections to the new main. There are 16 sanitary house connections to be reconnected within the 10' wide trench. Refer to exhibit A for sewer replacement location and the rim and inverts of the existing sewer pipe. Restoration shall consist of the installation of 6'' of recycled concrete aggregate and 4.5 " of asphalt (3" of base asphalt and 1.2" of top asphalt) The selected Contractor will be required to replace an existing sanitary sewer pipe with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sewer pipe. The existing sewer is approximately 9 feet below street elevation with the inverts of the existing pipe possibly in the groundwater. The contractor should be prepared to institute dewatering operations as needed. Due to the depth of the installation, the contractor should be equipped with the appropriate sheeting/shoring/bracing, etc. for this installation, to be used as necessary. Minority Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 5% Women Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 5% It is anticipated that an award will bemade at the regularly scheduled City Councilmeeting onTuesday, April 15lh, 2025. The City requiresthatwork commence assoon as possible. Contract term: 10 days Every request for such an interpretation shall be made in writing to the Engineer. Any inquiry received seven (7) or more days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids will be given consideration. Every interpretation made to a bidder will be in the form of an Addendum to the Contract Documents and when issued will be on file in the office ofthe Engineer and copies will be faxed to all prospective Bidders. It shall, however, be the Bidder's responsibility to make inquiry before bids are received as to the Addenda issued. All such Addenda shall become part ofthe Contract Documents and all Bidders shall be bound by such Addenda.
