All questions/requests must be received by noon on 4/15/2025 The Brownell Elementary School is located southeast of Chicago downtown, off Dan Ryan Expressway I-94. The campus consists of a single multi-story building. The project includes improvements to the Gymnatorium space, which serves as gym, auditorium and lunch room combined into one area. The construction base scope includes painting the gym walls up top and refinishing the gym lower walls which are glazed tile material. This refinishing work will comprise stripping the glazed surface and staining it using epoxy-based primer and staining materials. Color scheme will consist of school's blue and white colors, details to be confirmed later. Existing stage floor will be refinished in kind, including the two small side stairs. One school logo will be painted at a Gym wall, likely the south wall. Artwork will be provided by the school staff. Last base task is to replace the Gym window curtain and valences etc. Existing infrastructure will be utilized for support. Alternate work includes replacing 2 recessed and 8 hanging spot lights at the stage. Intent is to update the light fixtures, with no improvements to the existing power or control scheme. Refer to TEM's Environmental Design Manual for the required RRP procedures to be used for painting work. Removal of recessed light fixtures must be performed by a licensed abatement contractor.
