Site work for a civil project in Sandston, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and road / highway.
The Work consists of replacement of an existing structurally deficient double 10' x 6' box culvert with 52' of new triple 10' x 6' box culvert. While no roadway widening is proposed with this project, the shoulders will be extended to accommodate guardrail installation. The 2020 VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications are applicable to the project. Direct any questions, concerning the Project Manual and Drawings in writing through online. It is funded through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) which establishes a program for allocating funds to the state. The state agency responsible for administering this project is the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The Contractor must comply with VDOTs Locally Administered Project Manual. The requirements and VDOT forms included in this ITB have been approved for use on this project. Compliance with all local, state and federal requirements outlined in the ITB is required. When conflicts arise between state or local contract language and federal rules, the federal-aid or most conservative approach must be taken. This includes the Buy America Act and Federal Aid Construction Contract FHWA 1273 provisions. The project has a DBE participation goal of 4%.
