Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Naples, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a road / highway.
Purpose: Upgrade the facilities located on the Immokalee property that are the responsibility of the county to better serve and create a safer environment for the customers. Projects may include: (1) Design and permit of household hazardous waste (HHW) collection facilities to provide safe, convenient and environmentally responsible options for area residents and qualified small businesses desiring to properly dispose of flammable liquids, aerosols, pool chemicals, cleaning chemicals, used oil, mercury containing devices, propane tanks, medical sharps, pharmaceuticals, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, electronics, used paints, pesticides and fungicides to comply with 29 CFR.1910 Hazardous Materials and FAC 69A-69 Florida Fire Prevention Code. (2) A new scalehouse with new scales to accommodate the growth in the northeast area of Collier County (3) Establishing a hurricane debris recovery area (4) General site upgrades to include fencing, lighting, and security cameras. FY25 planned projects include design, permitting and bid preparation to acheive the conceptual site plan currently under development. Method: Fixed-term services contracts and/or competitive construction bids. End State: Improved county facilities that will better serve the residential and commercial customers that utilize the transfer station while diverting recyclables and hazardous waste material from the landfill. As of April 11, 2025, this project is included in the county's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
