Renovation of a military facility in Los Alamitos, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, permits and fees necessary for the Building 3 Renovation - JFTB located at Joint Forces Training Base, 11200 Lexington Drive, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, permits, and warranties to design and renovate the interior and exterior of Building 03 at JFTB, Los Alamitos, CA, including upgrades to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, ADA-compliant restrooms, office reconfigurations, finishes, doors, windows, insulation, roofing, and exterior improvements to enhance functionality, accessibility, and energy efficiency. All work shall be in accordance with the terms, conditions, and requirements of this Invitation for Bid (IFB). The prime contractor MUST possess a type B - General Building Contractor license, or subcontract to one. All questions regarding this IFB MUST be submitted to Sergey Kinchak, at Sergey.Kinchak@cmd.ca.gov no later than 4:00 PM on 5/5/2025. Email subject lines must state RFI FOR EVENT# 35050. To be considered a responsive bidder all prime contractors with the exception of a certified Disabled Veterans Business Enterprise (DVBE) must subcontract work to DVBEs a minimum of 5% to meet the DVBE participation goal. Failure to do so will render your bid non-responsive. All DVBEs must be listed as a subcontractor on the proposal form no matter if they are a subcontractor or supplier with the dollar amount of work they will be providing. A. A PAYMENT BOND, Standard Form 807, in the amount of 100% of the contract amount must be submitted by the successful bidder at the time signed contracts are returned to the Military Department if the contract exceeds $25,000.00. B. A PERFORMANCE BOND, in the amount of 100% of the contract amount must be submitted by the successful bidder at the time signed contracts are returned to the Military Department if the contract exceeds $10,000.00 and progress payments will be made. C. A BID BOND, in the amount of at least 10% of the bid amount must be submitted by the contractor with the Proposal Form if the contract exceeds $25,000.00 utilizing a bond form provided by the Surety. SCOPE OF WORK: Work will consist of furnishing notifications, fees, labor, materials, permits,disposal needs, equipment, and warranties. The project is for the constructionof Building03atJFTB, Los Alamitos, CA. The primary focus of the project is to provide design for renovations to the interior andexteriorof the approximate 18,500 square foot building. Design drawings of the buildingtoinclude, specifications, and Cost Estimate for: HVAC system, electrical system, plumbing/ ABAaccessible latrines, break room, interior finishes, interior redesign of space, gypsumwall board(GWB) on the walls and ceiling, floor coverings, aluminumwindows, windowtrim, insulation, LED lighting inside and out, exterior entrance stars/ADA Ramp, exterior doors, windowsandexterior finishes. The restrooms are to be remodeled and enlarged to better serve the different functionsincludingproviding ADA accessibility. A new ramp is proposed at the main entrance tothebuilding. Theoffices are reconfigured to be more consistent with current use patterns andwill containacombination of small and large offices, open office areas and conference rooms. Thebuildingwill accommodate at least two companies, and the spaces will be divided appropriatelywithanadequate combination of office areas and resource spaces as required. Thehigher volumespaces will be utilized for the larger group functions such as conference roomsandopenofficeareas. All the offices, conference rooms and circulation spaces are to be freshenedupwithnewfinishes (flooring, ceilings, paint/wall finishes), doors and hardware. Exterior windowswill bereplaced with energy efficient dual pane insulated windows, some stucco areaswill befixed, and the exterior stucco finish will be repainted. New insulation will be addedtotheexteriorwallsto make the building more energy efficient. Roofing, soffits and associated trim were noted to be in deteriorating conditionandaretobereplaced. Site Improvements The civil repairs will be limited to minimal demolition and site grading, ABAsiteimprovements,sanitary sewer lateral improvements, and equipment pads to support HVAC&electrical systemimprovements. The ABA site improvements include four (4) new accessibleparkingstallswithassociated sidewalks, signage, and pavement markings (three standard stalls andonevanaccessible stall) to the north of Yorktown Ave. A new ABA ramp will be constructedtoestablish an accessible path of travel from the main entrance to the newaccessibleparkingstalls. This will require partial stair demolition, relocating and refurbishing thestaticcannondisplays, constructing an ABA accessible ramp (7% slope), and providing newhandrails. Thesanitary sewer lateral improvements will remove and replace four (4) laterals connectionsfromYorktown Ave. to the northof thefacility
