The Public Building Commission of Chicago is soliciting Bids from General Contractors (including firms proposing to have a controlling interest in Joint Ventures) for the following project: WORKS PROGRESS ADMINISTRATION ("WPA") STREET RECONSTRUCTION (N. MASON AVE. - W. 56TH ST. - S. HOYNE AVE.) CHICAGO, IL Examination of Documents By Bidder The Bidder shall, before submitting its bid, carefully examine all Contract Documents, including but not limited to, the Project Information, Instructions to Bidders, and Execution Documents (Book 1); Standard Terms and Conditions (Book 2); Technical Specifications (Book 3); plans; drawings; Addenda (if any); and bonds. The Bidder will be responsible for all errors in its bid resulting from failure or neglect to comply with these instructions. Interpretations of Addenda The Commission will not furnish oral interpretations of Contract Documents, before or subsequent to the award of a contract. The Bidder's failure to acknowledge in writing any issued addenda on the Contractor's Bid page, Section IV. A. Site Visit Meeting Date, Time, and Location: NONE Requests for Information: Bidders are to submit requests for information, in writing, via email to the attention of Dee Taylor, PBC Contract Officer at: dee.taylor@cityofchicago.org CDOT PROJECTS #B-4-332, #B-4-333 AND #B-4-346 General Description of Scope of Work: The project consists of a Works Progress Administration ("WPA") street reconstruction Project, including: full-depth pavement reconstruction of the three (3) locations indicated above. Work includes but is not limited to excavation, portland cement concrete base course, hot-mix asphalt surface course, sewer main and drainage structures, water main, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks, brick pavers (N. Mason Ave. only), tactile/detectable warning surface system for curb ramps, concrete driveways and alleys, roadway lighting, thermoplastic pavement marking, signs, topsoil, sodding, tree removal and planting. Contractor will be required to prepare a Phasing and Logistics Plan within thirty (30) days of issuance of the Notice to Proceed ('NTP') for review and approval by CDOT and PBC, prior to the mobilization and commencement of any Work. The Contractor shall also be responsible for providing critical submittals, including electrical lighting (poles and luminaires), sewer and water main, and concrete mix design, as determined by the PBC, within thirty (30) days of issuance of the NTP. Project includes City of Chicago Department of Water Management ("DWM") Lead Service Line Replacement Work; total of 20 service lines at N. Mason Avenue, two (2) service lines at 56th Place, and 19 service lines at S. Hoyne Street. DWM requires approximately two (2) days per location to perform the work. DWM's work is anticipated to commence Q3-2025. Upon Contract Award of the new WPA Project, a meeting will be scheduled to review and confirm any/all coordination items, including DWM's planned work activities. 3.
