PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE OF INVITATION FOR BID Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) announces that it will seek bids for the work entitled: LIGHT RAIL TRACTION POWER SUBSTATION HVAC REPLACEMENT General work description: Contractor must remove existing light rail traction power substation HVAC units and furnish and install new high efficiency units. The work that is the subject of this bid is a public work within the meaning of Chapter 1 (beginning with Section 1720) of Part 7 of Division 2 of the California Labor Code to which Section 1771 (Payment of Prevailing Wages) applies. Contractor license classification at the time of award must be Class A or Class C-20. Each subcontractor performing services under this Contract must perform services under Contractor’s direction and control unless the subcontractor is a licensed contractor performing work within the scope of its license. It is the policy of the U.S. Department of Transportation that Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), as defined in 49 C.F.R. Part 26, are encouraged to participate in the performance of contracts financed in whole or in part with federal funds. As a condition of federal grant assistance, SacRT has adopted a DBE program for SacRT's federally-funded contracts. Consequently, the DBE requirements of 49 C.F.R. Part 26 apply to this contract. No DBE goal has been established for this Contract. However, if subcontracting opportunities exist for the work required for this Contract, Bidders/Proposers must ensure that DBEs have the opportunity to participate in the performance of this Contract. Contractor must not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability or age in the award and performance of subcontracts.
