Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Syracuse, New York. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Project will design and construct a shared use pathway along Fayette Street West and make use of the disused railroad bridge over Geddes St S. This project will improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists at the intersection of two high-volume corridors. This project will build on existing community outreach from the SMTC and is 80% reimbursable under the NYS Transportation Alternatives Program. Additional funding will support the project via CREST grant. As of April 17, 2025, this project is included in the City of Syracuse Fiscal Year 2026-2031 CIP. Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
