This project encompasses trenching and the demolition of concrete and asphalt, followed by repatching and restriping to restore surfaces to their original condition. The scope includes detecting and repairing a gas leak along the path of travel between two designated points, covering approximately 315 feet as shown in the attachment. The contractor will demolish the existing gas line and replace it with a new HDPE line with insulator kits, ensuring all gas lines are properly reconnected and routed per existing configurations. Additionally, the contractor is responsible for installing double-sided temporary fencing and steel plates to maintain vehicle access and pedestrian safety. The contractor must provide and install all necessary materials and equipment to deliver a fully furnished and finished turnkey product. Each bond shall be in the forms set forth herein, shall be secured from a surety company that meets all State of California bonding requirements, as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, and that is a California admitted surety insurer. Pursuant to Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code of the State of California, the successful Bidder may substitute certain securities for funds withheld by District to ensure its performance under the Contract. This Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. In bidding on this Project, it shall be the Bidder's sole responsibility to evaluate and include the cost of complying with all labor compliance requirements under this contract and applicable law in its Bid. Unless otherwise provided in the Instructions for Bidders, each Bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to sections 7000 et seq. of the Business and Professions Code in the following classification(s) throughout the time it submits its Bid and for the duration of the Contract: B and C-36. District shall award the contract for the Project to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder as determined by District from the BASE BID PLUS ALLOWANCE. District reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bids or in the bidding process.
