Project involves renovation of approximately 2,000 sf of existing lab/office/storage spaces on the northern side of the east laboratory building. These spaces will be developed into two new biosafety level (BSL) laboratory spaces. The work to be performed includes construction of suitable architectural finishes, new HVAC system, flooring, laboratory equipment, electrical, mechanical, security, and plumbing fixtures for developing BSL2+ and BSL3 laboratory spaces. The Board of Directors may reject all bids. Unless all bids are rejected, award will be made to the low, responsive, responsible bidder. The work of construction must be completed within 340 WORKING DAYS after the date in the Notice to Proceed. Est. These spaces will house a new BSL-2+ laboratory and a new BSL-3 laboratory; and all other appurtenant work as shown in the Drawing set and as specified in these Special Provisions nd the Standard Specifications. The Scope Includes, but is Not Limited to, New Suitable Finishes, Modular Casework, Improved Single Pane Windows,new Doors & Frames,relocation of Existing Utility Floor Hatches, New Air Handling Unitsand Exhaust Fans on the Roof, New Air Cooled Chiller, New Heat Recovery Chiller Unit on the Roof, Replacement of Existing Pumps, New Electrical Panel Boards, New Diesel Generator, New Ups System, as Well as Structural Shear Wall Modifications to Accomodate New Proposed Layouts.
