Sweetwater Authority (Authority) was formed in 1977 as a joint-powers agency between the City of National City and the South Bay Irrigation District. Governed by a seven-member Board of Directors, the Authority is a publicly-owned water agency that serves potable water to a population of approximately 200,000 in the City of National City, the western portion of the City of Chula Vista, and the unincorporated areas of Bonita and Lincoln Acres in San Diego County, CA. THE DESIRED SERVICE This Request for Quote (RFQ) is inviting companies to submit a Bid for the purchase and installation of a stainless-steel vertical turbine pump in a brackish groundwater well. The existing pump has been removed and cannot be repaired. Your bid should include all costs for materials, labor, freight, and taxes required to complete the project as outlined below. The selected contractor will need to sign the Authority's standard Purchase Order Terms and Conditions. Any exceptions to the Terms and Conditions should be noted in your bid. Please ensure that all services adhere to the bid pricing for each project and comply with the Terms and Conditions. SCOPE OF WORK Question Deadline 04/29/2025 at 3:00 PM PT The scope of work for the rehabilitation of NC Well No. 3 entails extracting the pump equipment, performing a full chemical rehabilitation and airlift, and inspecting all removed equipment to report findings and determine necessary repairs. This also includes video logging the well before and after rehabilitation, reinstalling the equipment, performing startup tests, and assessing the system operation. The scope of work for the procurement and installation of the well pump at San Diego Formation Well No. 11 (SDF Well No. 11) includes the following: _ Mobilization and Demobilization _ Procure a new Goulds 13CHC stainless steel vertical turbine bowl assembly _ Cut and re-thread column pipe and shafting to match the new column lengths. Note that the shafts will be reused. _ Replace 17 couplings with phenolic lining. _ Recondition and phenolic line 15 couplings. _ Replace the head nipple in the discharge head. _ Replace shaft retainers and inserts. _ Recondition the mechanical seal and seal gland. _ Install the pump equipment.
