Reference Number 0000291692 Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/04/29 04:00:00 PM EDT The wayfinding goals and objectives for the Project focus on establishing clear aims such as facilitating ease of navigation, reducing confusion, and promoting independence for residents. The following outlines the expected scope of work for the Consultant: Present concepts that harmonize with the architectural design, carefully considering aesthetics, materials, and placement to enhance the overall environment while maintaining the architectural integrity. Work closely with the architect to ensure a seamless integration of design elements. Schedule regular check-ins and feedback sessions with architect - allowing both parties to discuss design iterations and adjustments, address concerns, and refine solutions together. Before implementation into contract documents, present the final signage strategy and design concepts to the owner for review and approval. Implement and coordinate as required with architect, final design into contract documents. Detailed design finalization will include, but not be limited to, floor plans, necessary elevation details, specifications, color palettes, typography, etc. and graphic elements in accordance with applicable codes. Package should include placement plan to specify location, orientation, etc. Specifications noting materials, finishes, and details to ensure long-term durability, particularly in high-traffic areas. During procurement assist in vendor selection for manufacturers or contractors tasked with producing and installing the signage if necessary. Review shop drawings for compliance to contract documents. Throughout the installation process, provide quality control site reviews for compliance. If required, work with Architect to submit for exterior signage permit. Undertake a comprehensive assessment and design initiative aimed at enhancing navigation and accessibility within the new Campus of Care recognizing that some elements such as the Education Centre will be sought by numerous students and therefore signage should facilitate the ease of navigation. Develop a cohesive signage strategy that enhances the overall user experience in the Campus of Care and the long-term care home incorporating neighborhood design. Conduct stakeholder consultations to gather insights regarding their wayfinding needs and preferences. A perfect example is the importance of colours for the residents therefore a strong collaboration with Rekai's Dementia Consultant will be required to ensure all requirements are met. Evaluate the existing layout, identifying critical points such as entrances, corridors, resident rooms, and common areas. Identify key locations such as, each bedroom entrance displaying the resident's name and room number, unit entrances, resident common areas like the chapel and beauty salon, lobby areas directing individuals to various administrative and service zones, public washrooms, and workstations within resident housing areas. Ensure that all proposed signage solutions are AODA compliant, Ministry of Long-Term care requirements and Ontario Building Code. Define a clear signage hierarchy to ensure intuitive and easy-to-read signs, with considerations for font sizes, color coding, symbols, and pictograms for clarity-using font sizes, backgrounds, and prints that meet the needs of the resident.. Residents and staff signage must be interchangeable Design a Donor wall with flexibility and scalability in mind, allowing for easy updates, additions, and changes as the organization's donor base and giving levels evolve.
