Bob Hope School is accepting Competitive Sealed Proposals for the following project: Baytown Campus Roof Replacement. Request for Proposals for the Baytown Campus roof replacement project for The Hughen Center, dba Bob Hope School, Location- 304 N Pruett St Baytown, TX 77520 The Selection Committee will evaluate and score each proposal and make a recommendation to the School Board for final approval at the May Board Meeting. SCOPE: The selected firm shall furnish all necessary resources (including but not limited to personnel, training programs, support, equipment, materials, services and supplies) to complete the scope of work included in Section V below (page 12). Replace damaged gutters and downspouts. Work should be performed per GAF warranty. Ridge vents should be nonmechanical. Provide WPI-8 certificate for insurance purposes. This project is for a roof replacement at Bob Hope School's Baytown campus, located at 304 N. Pruett St, Baytown, TX 77520. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE A. Vendor shall furnish all labor, tools, specialized equipment, material, supplies, supervision and transportation to perform roofing services as specifically outlined in this section. B. The worksite shall be secured and cleaned up daily (nails, debris, equipment, etc.) C. The work shall be coordinated with the Director of Operations to ensure the students' learning environment is not affected. D. Work shall be completed by July 27, 2025, or sooner. E. To decrease the time business operations will be disrupted, the Contractor may be required to work weekends. F. Protect the surrounding area including sidewalks and vegetation. The Contractor shall maintain a safe work area around the facility. G. The Contractor shall follow all applicable City, County, State, and Federal codes and regulations. H. Contractor shall properly perform the following functions: a. Remove 1 layer of existing composition roof. b. Repair rotten decking--install approximately ten (10) sheets of 1/2 CDX plywood. Provide a price for additional sheets if necessary. c. Apply synthetic felt (or equivalent) over entire roof. d. Install 2' x 4" pre-painted steel drip edge to all roof perimeters; match shingle. e. Install ice and water shield in all closed valleys and around penetrations. f. Replace vent pipe boots with lead plumbing jacks, and paint to match roof. g. Replace all galvanized vents and gas vent bases. h. Install new flashings to walls. i. Install 623 feet ridge vent. j. Install 225 lb. starter course (Pro-Start Starter); hand-nail 6 nails per shingle. k. Apply GAF Timberline HDZ Lifetime (color: weathered wood) with StainGuard Protection. l. Install matching 3-tab ridge caps. m. Apply fiberglass composition shingles to entire building. I. Vendor shall comply with Texas Department of Insurance Windstorm requirements and schedule all inspections. J. Vendor shall remove all debris pertaining to the above operation and will run magnetic sweep(s) of the area.
