Renovation of a transportation facility in Dorval, Quebec. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.
Reference Number 0000291718 Pricing Lump sum Escalators 17 and 18, located at the domestic pier, are Thyssen (model FT-722) and were installed in 1995. Since then, no modifications have been made to these escalators during their years of service. The project consists of their complete modernization and refurbishment of existing components, in order to ensure an additional life expectancy of approximately 15 years, as well as upgrading to architectural, electrical, mechanical and fire alarm standards. The modernization includes the replacement of the drive and step chains, handrails, steps, comb plates, controller, electrical wiring, safety switches, signage, refurbishment of the handrail drive system, addition of a frequency inverter to control speed, and other components as needed, in order to meet the requirements of the current CSA-B44 Safety Code for Elevators, Freight Lifts and Escalators.
