2 Locations of Cold Milling and HMA Resurfacing, Shoulder Gravel and Pavement Markings Totaling 3.88 Miles in Geneva and Warren Townships, Midland County, Michigan. Question Deadline 05/01/2025 at 12:00 PM ET All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in favor of the Midland County Road Commission. Bidders have the following options to provide the amount of the Bid Guaranty as specified in this proposal; 1. An electronic bid bond, properly completed and verified by Surety 2000; or 2. A properly completed paper bid bond; or 3. A money order, certified or cashier's check on an open, solvent bank in favor of the "Board of Midland County Road Commissioners." The Bid Guaranty shall be received by the Midland County Road Commission before the Bid opening date and time in order to fulfill this bidding requirement. Any bids not accompanied with a Bid Guaranty by the bid opening date and time will be considered non-responsive. The methods for providing the required Bid Guaranty for electronic bids are as follows; A. An electronic bid bond, properly completed and verified by Surety 2000; or B. Submittal of a properly completed paper bid bond or a money order, certified or cashier's check to the Midland County Road Commission Offices, located at 2334 N. Meridian Rd, Sanford, Michigan 48657. The Bid Guaranty shall be in a sealed envelope with contents clearly identified, on the outside of the envelope, with the Bidders Name, Project Name and Project Number. Perform the proposed work in accordance with the standard specifications and the details and special provisions contained within the log of project. Throughout the project limits, the following work shall be done as directed by the Engineer. Cold Milling HMA Surface Cold mill the existing Saginaw and Coleman Road mainline lanes as shown on the typicals to an estimated depth of 1.5 inches. Cold mill side street approaches to the location shown on the plans, or to the limits as directed by the Engineer. All milled surfaces must be paved within 24 hours of the milling operation. Resurface all milled areas prior to the end of day Friday unless Saturday work is approved by the Engineer. Cold Milling HMA Surface unit price includes the cost of mobilizing, traffic control, removing, loading, and cleaning the cold-milled pavement at locations determined by the Engineer. Cold milling shall be done in accordance with the 2020 MDOT Standard Specifications Section 501. Cold Mill mainline HMA surface with a uniform depth of 1 1/2 inch at the C/L crown unless otherwise specified in the details or by the Engineer. The extents of the existing pavement width may vary. At the end of the milling operation contractor shall provide smooth transition per MCRC approval from termination of milled surface to existing paved surface before traffic is opened. HMA Surfacing - (Saginaw Road) Overlay the mainline lanes and shoulders, as shown in details. The contractor will be required to sweep the surface and apply tack coat at a uniform application rate of 0.05 to 0.15 gallon/square yard prior to paving where applicable. This work is considered incidental and included in the unit prices quoted. Resurface the milled areas with HMA top course at a rate of 165 lbs per syd, as detailed in the typicals. HMAApproach is not required unless directed by the Engineer. HMA Surfacing - (Coleman Road) Overlay the mainline lanes and shoulders, including the paved side street approaches as shown in details. The contractor will be required to sweep the surface and apply tack coat at a uniform application rate of 0.05 to 0.15 gallon/square yard prior to paving where applicable. This work is considered incidental and included in the unit prices quoted. Resurface the milled areas with HMA top course at a rate of 165 lbs per syd, as detailed in the typicals. Placing HMA, Approach - Surface side street approaches to the dimensions as shown on the detail sheets or as directed by MCRC engineer. The payment for HMAApproach includes all HMA side street approaches to the spring point, or to the limits as directed by the Engineer. HMA, Approach unit price includes the paving of driveways as applicable to achieve driveway running slopes of 10% or less as shown in details. Placement of Gravel on Shoulders Place Shld, Cl II, Modified in accordance with the typical cross sections following HMA paving. The locations for shoulders and the amount of gravel to be used will be on the typical cross section or determined by the Engineer. Gravelshouldersshall be placed within 5 working days after paving at each specified location. Payment will be made per ton of material used and will include cost for traffic control, placement, compaction, and excess moisture deduction per MDOT Specification Section 109. All materials used shall meet the requirements as set forth in the 2020 MDOT Standard Specifications Sections 307 and 902. The Midland County Road Commission shall not allow the cleaning or maintenance of any equipment or tools within the right of way of any county roads or streets. Pavement Markings Inventory all existing pavement markings and provide a copy to the Engineer one (1) week prior to commencing any construction activity. Do not commence any cold milling operations prior to the approval of the said inventory by the Engineer. The cost associated with the inventory is included in the pay item "Witness, Log, $1,250.00". Apply permanent pavement markings after all paving has been completed according to Standard Specification Section 811 and applicable standard plans.
