The City of Redwood City (City) is located on the southwest shore of the San Francisco Bay on the San Mateo Peninsula in California. The City's Engineering and Transportation and Public Works Services Departments are responsible for maintaining the City's infrastructure, including its storm drainage system, sewer system, water systems, roads and bridges, flood channels, levees, and natural creeks. These departments also work to protect citizens from flooding while preserving the natural environment. The Redwood Creek begins in Woodside, California, and crosses the City of Redwood City until it discharges to several side channel sloughs into the Bay of San Francisco. Redwood Creek and its tributaries comprise about 8 miles of waterway and convey storm water run-off from the Emerald Hills and nearby watersheds to San Francisco Bay through Redwood City. Several of these creeks were lined with concrete in the late 1960's as part of the creek improvements funded by the General Improvement District 1-65. Over time, these concrete creek wall structures require repair. The City of Redwood City is seeking a qualified engineering firm to develop the design, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for the "Redwood Creek Channel Rehabilitation Project Near 1180 Main Street Project" (project). This project aims to design rehabilitation measures between stations 295+30 to station 297+00 as shown in the Redwood Creek Channel Structural Assessment performed by Wood Rodgers and report dated May 12, 2023. One wall segment between stations 295+30 and 295+60 was replaced in November 2020.
