Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Montreal, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for the construction of a museum; museum; and playground / park / athletic field.
Renovation of the Black Rock site officially named Parc du Monument Irlandais (Montreal Irish Monument Park). It is expected that the project located on a 4.3 acres site will feature: - Agora and reflecting pool: The Black Rock will be surrounded by a terraced agora and a reflecting pool symbolizing the crossing of the Atlantic. - Memorial wall: A Corten steel wall, reminiscent of a ship's hull, will be engraved with 6,000 Celtic crosses to honor the victims of the 1847 typhus epidemic. - Cultural pavilion: A LEED-certified museum and interpretation centre is planned to educate about Montreal's Irish heritage. Note. The project value may be is high as $20 million. TIMEINE: The project is preliminary. The architectural firm Lemay is working of the project concept preparation. The development of the project is contingent upon prior infrastructure work in the Bridge-Bonaventure area that is expected to be completed in 2027. Scope of work and timelines of the project development are being finalized. Further update in late 2026/early 2027.
