General Engineering; General Building Contractor; Underground Utility/ Excavation; Paving SCOPE OF WORK: This Project consists of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment (except as specifically stated to be furnished by the Department) to adjust water main and fire hydrant valve boxes, sanitary sewer manholes, water valve manholes, sewer force main valve boxes, install fire hydrant guard post, construct concrete slab for fire hydrants, compact and install new pavement to the square around the casting with hot mix asphalt and complete all associated work, as ordered by the Department, during a 1.5-year period beginning on the date of the Notice to Proceed. The Contractor must certify that he has at least two installation crews and equipment available to complete the work in a timely fashion. The project consists of performing these repairs at locations anywhere within the limits of Miami-Dade County, Florida. The work includes, but shall not be limited to, adjustment of valve boxes for both water and sewer valves; adjustment of manhole castings for gravity sewers and air release valves; demolition and removal of existing asphalt and concrete; constructing new 8-inch thick concrete around the casting; furnishing and installing bricks for the adjustment; restoration of the flag area around the casting; furnishing and installing hot mix asphalt to match existing; traffic control; locating valve boxes and manholes buried under dirt or asphalt; obtaining all required permits; and all other miscellaneous and appurtenant items necessary to perform a complete restoration. The original Bid bond Security (in the form of a bid bond or cashier’s check) MUST be delivered to WASD, at the address above, BEFORE the bids are opened. Failure to deliver the original will result in the bid submission being rejected as non-responsive. The RFI cut-off date is five (5) business days prior to the bid due date. Contractor must refer to the Request for Price Quotation (RPQ) and associated project documents for the detail Scope of Work. The Contractor further proposes and agrees to begin the work with an adequate force and with sufficient equipment and facilities on the date stated in the written Notice to Proceed issued and served upon him by the Engineer and to complete the work in Five Hundred Forty (540) Consecutive Calendar Days to complete all work orders Work Orders issued.
