For this RFP, York County is seeking sealed proposals from qualified trail builders to layout and construct approximately 8-10 miles of single-track natural mountain bike trails for Catawba Bend Preserve Park located at 3271 Neely Store Road Rock Hill, SC 29730 1.2 Scope of Work A. This RFP is for layout and construction of approximately 8-10 miles of single-track natural mountain bike trails. B. Refer to Exhibit A for area within Catawba Bend Preserve designated for Mountain Bike trail system. C. Trail layout and construction should minimize tree removal, follow natural topography and avoid protected streams and wetlands. Trails must have a side slope of no steeper than 2:1. Runoff/drainage must be considered in trail layout. Final trail layout and width must be approved by owner prior to construction. Throughout the entire build, the County expects the selected contractor to use best practices and follow the International Mountain Bicycling Association guidelines (IMBA). D. Technical bike trails and features must be designed and constructed in accordance with best practices established by recognized trail organizations.
