In addition, the bidder must complete a pre-award meeting with appropriate DNR staff to ensure that the materials and scope are mutually understood. Evaluation. Low lot total will be determined by multiplying the unit cost by the estimated usage listed in the bid and then adding each of the totals together to arrive at a total for all items. Project Background: Caesar Creek State Park is completing a project at its dog park that will also serve as a memorial for fallen K-9 Officer Jason Lagore. The park will include several new picnic tables, benches, and drinking fountains that will need poured pads as well as pads for the entry and exit to the dog park gates. Locations: Locations will be marked prior to work being started. I Infrastructure: Care must be taken to not damage existing infrastructure (fences, walking paths, etc.). Sizes and Dimensions: Concrete Pad Quantities and Sizes: o 4ea. Picnic table pads (7'W x 10'L x 6"T) o 9ea. Bench pads (3'W x 6'L x 4"T) o 2ea. Water Fountain pads inside fenced areas (areas are irregular, total area is 100sqft, all will be 6"T) Water lines will need to be installed before pad placement. o 1ea. Water Fountain pad outside the fenced areas (area is 18sqft, 6"T) Water lines will need to be installed before pad placement. o 2ea. Sally Port pads at the entry / exit through the dog park gates (areas are irregular, total area is 260sqft, all will be 4"T) Site Preparation: o Clear the Area: Remove any grass, weeds, rocks, or debris from the area where the pads will be located, see maps. o Excavation Depth: Excavate the soil to a depth adequate to have all pads FLUSH to the surrounding area. o Excavated material: Must be removed from the area. Base Layers: o Base: Minimum of 3-inch layer of compacted gravel (crushed stone, limestone, or road base) as a base for all concrete pads. Concrete Mix: o Strength: Minimum 3000 psi (pounds per square inch) concrete mix. Rev. 6/3/22 Pouring Concrete: o Pouring: Ensure the concrete fills the entire form and is evenly distributed and remove air bubbles, ensuring that the mix is compact and dense. o Reinforcement: Wire mesh within all concrete pads. o Drainage: Ensure that the concrete pads have a slight slope (1-2%) to allow for proper drainage. Finishing: o Texturing: Texture the surface to make it non-slip. o Edges: Round or chamfer the edges to give them a neat, professional look and prevent chipping. Timeline: Completed by EOM June 2025.
