A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The scope of work to be completed under Contract No. 21-09B for the dehumidification of the main cables and anchorages which includes: o Cleaning and wrapping of the main cables o Sealing of cable bands, cable bent saddles, tower tops and anchorage castings o Design and installation of controls and monitoring system o Design and installation of the plant room and equipment o Design and installation of the electrical components o Installation of fiber optic network using existing and new fiber optic cables. o Installation of injection and exhaust sleeves on the main cables o Surface preparation and painting of steel o Installation of dry air piping and structural supports o Sealing all anchorage openings and installing new airtight doors Additional items within the Contract scope include: o Design and installation of temporary access to main cable at high and low levels o Installation of new Portsmouth Anchorages stair tower o Replacement of handropes and stanchion posts o Internal inspection of main cables o Replacement of all cable band bolts o Installation of new backstay cable bands o Anchorage concrete and crack repairs and select waterproofing o Anchorage roof perimeter safety railing installation o Replacement of decorative lighting o Security enhancements to the anchorages and suspended spans The Contractor is advised of the presence of communication lines, electrical wiring and high voltage power lines located within the work zone. The Contractor is advised of existing fiber optic cabling attached to the outboard side of the west stiffening truss. The Contractor shall be required to coordinate with applicable utility companies to de-energize non-RITBA owned lines when and where possible. The Contractor shall take all precautions to ensure all fiber optic lines, electrical power lines, and utilities are properly protected and shielded as necessary during the completion of Contract work. A certified check payable to the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the total amount of the bid price, or a bid bond not less than five (5) percent of the total amount of the bid price, must accompany each Proposal as a guarantee that the Contract will be entered into, if awarded. The submitted Certified Check or Bid Bond will be returned after the Contract has been executed. Execute Contract and issue Notice to Proceed on July17, 2025. Contractor to start work by July 27, 2025. Contractor shall complete all work on this Contract by 4:00 PM on September 5, 2027. ALL questions or clarifications concerning the Contract documents shall be submitted by email to procurement@ritba.org no later than 4:00 PM on May 21, 2025. All questions and responses will be posted on the RITBA website. Any bond required under the provisions of this Contract and Proposal shall only be issued by and originate with an agent lawfully constituted, licensed, and registered in the State of Rhode Island. A Payment Bond and Performance Bond of one hundred (100) percent of the Contract price with a surety company that is satisfactory to the Authority will be required of the successful bidder. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in bids received. The Authority will consider only those bids received from parties who have obtained Contract Documents directly from the Authority.
