Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing (RFQ / IDIQ) at TSTC Texas State Technical College ("TSTC") is a coeducational two-year institution of higher education offering courses of study in technical vocational education for which there is demand within the State of Texas. TSTC is mandated to contribute to the educational and economic development of the State of Texas by offering occupationally oriented programs with supporting academic course work, emphasizing highly specialized advanced and emerging technical and vocational areas for certificates or associate degrees. Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is soliciting Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Services. This RFQ aims to identify qualified professional firms to provide miscellaneous geotechnical and CMT services to support the planning, construction, renovation, activation, and occupancy of higher education facilities and infrastructure projects at various TSTC campuses across Texas. This agreement is valid for a period of two years, with the option to extend for three more one-year terms. Prices are fixed for the first two years, and any increases in the annual percentage rate during the renewal periods must receive prior approval from TSTC. The successful respondents will provide a range of services for various/periodic projects that support TSTC's infrastructure needs. These services may include but are not limited to: Geotechnical Engineering Provide desktop review of generally available public information for selected sites. Conduct field exploration at selected sites, including drilling/sampling of subsurface materials and observation of current groundwater levels. Conduct laboratory testing of collected subsurface materials. Provide engineering analysis and geotechnical recommendations in written report format for the proposed project. Construction Materials Testing Soils - Sampling/testing of soils, observation of earthwork operations, and moisture-density testing of subgrade and compacted fill. Cast-in-Place Deep Foundations - Pier/pile diameter, depth, bearing stratum, and reinforcing steel observation as well as compressive strength testing of concrete/grout. Concrete - Sampling concrete and conducting slump and concrete compressive strength tests. Observe formwork dimensions, reinforcing steel size, spacing, and configuration prior to concrete placement. Verification of anchor bolt diameter, length, shape, and concrete embedment. Verification of bolt hole size, depth, and cleanliness as well as the application of epoxy and installation of bolts for epoxied anchor bolts. Structural Steel - Visual observation of completed field welds and weld sizes. Non-destructive testing of completed field welds when necessary. Visual observations of bolted connections and checking of tightness for specified torque requirements. Masonry - Visual observation of reinforcing steel placement, reinforcing steel and grout placement observation, and sampling/compressive strength testing of grout as required by project specifications. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
