Renovation of a mixed-use development in Akron, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a stadium.
https://www.akron.com/articles/buchtel-stadium-and-press-box-improvements-planned/ Buchtel stadium and press box improvements planned _________________ The Akron City School District ("APS") intends to contract for construction manager-at-risk ("CMR") services in connection with the replacement of the stadium press box and concession stand at the John R. Buchtel CLC outdoor stadium at 1040 Copley Rd., Akron, Ohio 44320. The total Project budget including design professional and CM fees is $2,000,000. The Project involves the design and construction of a new press box to replace the existing facility that will include a concessions stand, storage, and restrooms for spectators. The second story will consist of a 500 SF press box, which is limited in area by the Ohio Building Code. The first story will include an approximately 3,500 SF building to be constructed from masonry bearing wall construction. The Project will also include paving of and stormwater upgrades to the "warm-up" track, stadium electrical upgrades to allow stadium lighting to be added at a later date, upgrades to stadium landscaping, and possible fencing upgrades.
