Improve the ~2,360 LF of existing Main Street "Gateway Corridor" from IH-35 east to Firecracker Lane to align with the conditions west of IH-35 east of Firecracker Lane as established in the Sunfield TIA (published March 2010). The Main Street Extension from IH-35 to Firecracker Lane is a transition zone from Interstate Highway to commercial uses along Main Street and leads to existing residential areas in the Sunfield Community. Project shall reconstruct the full width roadway to meet the Parkway-4 section as defined by the Transportation Mobility Master Plan. The design shall incorporate four (4) lanes (two eastbound and two westbound) with a median dividing the direction of travel and a 10' wide multi-use path on each side of the street adjacent to or separated from the back of street curb. Stormwater treatment elements incorporated as inlets and the planned integration of subsurface utilities (telecoms, electrical, water, wastewater, stormwater, and gas) shall meet current and future (projected 25-year) expansion needs. The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
