Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
A new cruise ship dock will be constructed abutting and connected to the east face of the capped portion of the Milwaukee Harbor Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) and adjacent to the active Dredged Material Disposal Facility (DMDF). It will be located within the submerged lands granted to the City of Milwaukee by the State of Wisconsin through the Laws of Wisconsin 1909 Chapter 358, amended in Laws of 1923 Chapter 285, and again amended in Laws of 1931 Chapter 381. Port Milwaukee is a department of the City of Milwaukee and has been given jurisdiction over this portion of submerged land. The proposed South Shore cruise dock waterfront platform consists of a three-sided sheet pile wall with tiebacks that will be filled to create a new terminal adjacent to the confinement dike of the CDF. A walkway platform that extends out from the new terminal will be parallel to the shoreline with mooring monopile dolphins that have fender panels. The facility length parallel to the shoreline will be approximately 744 feet long. Port Milwaukee has an immediate need for the construction of approximately 640 lineal feet of sheetpile with wales and 335 lineal feet of anchor wall and 2,000 lineal feet of tie rods as well as monopiles, among the other items needed to construct the cruise dock waterfront platform. Small Business Enterprise (SBE) participation of 25 percent is required on this contract, unless waived by the City. Each bidder must submit a bid bond in the amount of 10 percent of its bid. Questions received after this deadline or directed to other contacts at Port Milwaukee or the City of Milwaukee will not be recognized. The Board of Harbor Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The Board of Harbor Commissioners will award this contract to the lowest reliable and competent bidder. In the case of a tie low bid, the Board of Harbor Commissioners reserves the right to determine the award. No bid will be considered as accepted until the Board of Harbor Commissioners votes to accept it.
