As of July 18, 2025, the project was awarded to Southern Trenchless Solutions, LLC, with an awarded amount of $4,562,499.62. Naval Air Station Corpus Christi (NAS-CC) operates an existing wastewater sewer system consisting of vitrified clay pipe ranging in size from 12" to 24" diameter that has reached its useful life. The project intends to replace the existing wastewater lines and manholes with new fiberglass manholes and HDPE/PVC sewers in the existing alignment and slopes along Ocean Drive, Sierra Taxiway, First Street, and Avenue D. The majority of the project will be constructed via pipe bursting and some portions will require conventional open trench methods for installation. The deadline to ask questions is 5/23/2025 2:00 PM CST The proposed improvements from the intersection of Avenue D and 1st Street until the end of the project limits (~1,250 LF) will be bid as an additive alternate. SPECIAL NOTES: The project is located within Naval Air Station Corpus Christi. Portions of the alignment are along the Sierra Taxiway and former installation remediation sites. The work will include Navy base requirements concerning access, construction, work in proximity to Navy airfields (FAA), traffic control, storage and disposal of construction waste, and environmental coordination. The project is funded in part by the Defense Economic Adjustment Assistance Grant (DEAAG) program and the United States Navy. Base Access can be obtained through a base pass or by participating in the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) program. A DBIDS pass is required for all prime contractor personnel. There is no cost to obtain DBIDS credentials. Bidders are advised to refer to Request for Bids Section 5 of the bidding documents for a list of required bid submittals. Failure to submit or upload all required documents may result in an irregular or non-responsive bid submittal. It is the responsibility of the Contractor bidding on the project to ensure the accuracy of the reproduction of all Bid Documents and Construction Drawings. This includes, but is not limited to, proper scaling, paper width, and length, etc. Failure to do so may result in errors in the Unit Bid Quantities and/or Bids Amounts. Sealed Bids may be submitted either (i) electronically using the online USA ("online") website (online), or (ii) via a flash drive delivered in a sealed envelope.
