As part of its Real Estate Master Plan (RMP) adopted in December 2024, INRS has taken the strategic decision to regroup all activities of the Centre Énergie Matériaux Télécommunications (EMT) located in Varennes and Place Bonaventure on the Laval campus. This major reorganization aims to create an integrated hub for knowledge and innovation, bringing together INRS's key strengths in key sectors for Quebec's scientific and technological development. The scope of work includes the construction of a new pavilion dedicated to activities in the "Ultrafast Science and Photonics" housing: - The ALLS laboratory and its medium and high-peak power laser equipment, - The LULMAN/QUALITY laboratory specializing in advanced photonics and quantum technologies. Notes: - The project is included in the Quebec Government Five-Year Infrastructure Plan (PQI). - The value of the project is expected to be as high as $29 million. The energy performance of the facility will meet LEED certification requirements. TIMELINE: The awarded professional consultants have submitted to the owner established functional and technical program and concept of the project that are under review. The owner is finalizing the scope of work and budget of the project. According to the preliminary scheduling a RFP for design services will be issued in mid-2026, construction completion is preliminary expected in 2028. Further update in summer/fall 2026.
