Site work and paving for a road / highway in Lauderhill, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Milling and Resurfacing, and Swale Reconfiguration The Scope of Work for this project consists of two key activities: 1. Swale Reconfiguration 2. Neighborhood Asphalt Resurfacing The selected contractor will be responsible for reconfiguring swales to original conditions, installing exfiltration trenches, and milling and resurfacing the neighborhood roads in Lauderhill, as depicted in the schematic plans and detailed specifications. 1) Swale Reconfiguration: Swales, originally intended to be lower than the grade of the roadway and pervious, can lose their shape and functionality over time. This may result from being replaced by impervious surfaces (e.g., concrete, asphalt), filled with sand and topsoil, or overgrown with trees and shrubbery. The city intends to expand this program and create more designated areas for reconfiguration. Scope of Work Includes: Removal and Disposal: Existing grass, landscape material, and topsoil. Trees (to be identified by the city before removal). Regrading and Reconfiguring swales to final grade as per provided details. Exfiltration Trenches & Catch Basins: Construction of trenches and installation of catch basins where applicable. Adjustment of Valves: Adjust to match the regraded swales, including installation of concrete collars as necessary (per city standard). Restoration of Disturbed Areas: Sidewalk repairs. Irrigation system repairs and replacement of sod (St. Augustine). Resetting of irrigation and communication lines with appropriate ground cover. Traffic Management: Maintain adequate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) and notify affected entities (e.g., commuters, police, fire, school board, Broward County Transit, etc.) in coordination with the city. Waste Disposal: The contractor is responsible for disposal of all waste and debris. Compliance: Perform all work according to City requirements and Engineering Standards. 2) Neighborhood Asphalt Resurfacing: This activity aims to renovate the roadways that have reached the end of their service life, in accordance with the Citywide Pavement Condition Survey. Over time, roadways lose their structural integrity, showing signs of aging such as cracks, spoilage, and reduced smoothness. Scope of Work Includes: Milling: Mill (1) the roadway surface as per provided specifications. Utility Protection: Locate and protect all utility fixtures (e.g., valves, hydrants, backflows) and signs. Repaving: Repave (1) the roadway surface as per specifications. Restoration of Pavement Aprons: Around existing catch basins. Restriping: Restripe the roadways with thermoplastic paint and install Raised Pavement Markers (RPMs) per Broward County Standards. Erosion Control: Implement Best Management Practices (BMPs) for erosion control. Traffic Management: Maintain adequate MOT and notify affected entities as necessary. Waste Disposal: The contractor is responsible for disposal of all waste and debris. Compliance: Perform all work in accordance with City requirements and Engineering Standards.
