Site work and outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field in Westford, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and for outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field.
Question Deadline 05/08/2025 at 5:00 PM ET All questions must be submitted in writing to Jeff Goodwin, Director of Facilities, at jgoodwin@westfordma.gov Each bid must be accompanied by a 5% bid security. A 100% performance bond and payment bond will be required from the successful bidder. The Town anticipates awarding the contract by Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Work must be completed by September 5, 2025 for Westford Academy and December 15, 2025 for Forge VFW Field. This project is subject to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M, and applicable prevailing wage laws. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, and to waive any informalities. SUMMARY: a. Work covered by this section of the specifications shall conform to the contract documents, engineering plans as well as state and local codes. b. The purpose of this specification is to define the lighting system performance and design standards for one (1) softball field and one (1) football field for the Town of Westford using an LED Lighting source. The manufacturer / contractor shall supply lighting equipment to meet or exceed the standards set forth in these specifications. c. The sports lighting will be for the following venues: i. Football (Westford Academy Football Field) ii. Softball (Forge VFW Softball Field) d. The primary goals of these sports lighting projects are: i. Total Cost of Ownership: This project's primary goal is to minimize overall expenses during the system's life by prioritizing the upfront costs and total power consumption over the 25- year life of the system. ii. Environmental Light Control: This project's primary goal is to minimize Glare and Spill. Minimizing glare is the most critical aspect of a sports lighting system's quality. iii. Maintenance and Reliability: All maintenance costs shall be eliminated for the duration of the 25-year warranty. iv. Control and Monitoring: All communication costs for 25-years shall be included in the bid. Authorities shall also provide immediate theatrical effects with at least five (5) pre-designed shows (Football Field Only). The system shall monitor lightning & performance and notify the manufacturer if an individual luminaire outage is detected, or lightning strikes occur
