Site work, asbestos abatement and renovation of a detention facility in Winnfield, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility; for site work for a detention facility; and for asbestos abatement for a detention facility.
Project consists of re-roofing the Cellblock Cypress at the Winn Correctional Facility, which has an area ofapproximately 28,800 SF and consists of low slope roofing. The existing low slope-roof system and related baseflashing shall be removed down to the existing deck and receive new polyisocyanurate insulation (and taperedinsulation) where required to achieve positive drainage, new associated metal and/or elastomeric flashing,adjustments if any to rooftop curbs and other rooftop mounted system, and the installation of a new State ofLouisiana approved 20 year cold-adhesive applied, 2-ply modified bitumen roofing over rigid thermal over anexisting structural concrete deck. Additional work is required to encapsulate existing clerestory windows behindnew metal siding with new metal wall framing and all associated flashings. Project will be constructed under asingle prime contract. Included in this project is an asbestos assessment which identified the presence andlocation of readily accessible Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM). As a result of this assessment, Abatementspecifications have been developed and included in this project manual that shall be incorporated into the projectscope.
