Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Augusta, Georgia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 150,000-square-foot educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission (GSFIC), as "Owner", on behalf the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia ("Using Agency" or "BOR''), is seeking firms interested in providing construction management at risk services for a project. Question Deadline 05/12/2025 at 2:00 PM ET. The proposed project is a new state-of-the-art facility approximately 150K GSF Translational Research Building on a strategic site adjacent to the research and clinical core of the Augusta University Health Sciences Campus (HSC). Research laboratories, vivarium and associated service space are anticipated to comprise the majority of the space program along with smaller instructional, office/collaboration, and building service components. This project will provide an immediate increase in research capacity while also allowing the relocation of key functions from Sanders and Hamilton buildings. While not currently included in the CM/GC's scope of work, demolition of the obsolete 62K GSF Pavilion I/II complex, originally built in 1956 could be added to the scope of this project depending upon the needs of the Using Agency. The preliminary Stated Cost Limitation (SCL) or construction cost of the Project is estimated at $109,000,000. The final SCL may be revised by the Owner due to final programmatic requirements, funding availability or other circumstances.
