construction of Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) Replacement and incidental items in and for said Princeton Municipal Airport, as is more fully described and set forth in the plans and specifications therefore, which are now on file in the office of KLJ. Concrete foundations for new Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) equipment, tower erection, removal of existing AWOS equipment, removal of existing AWOS foundations, installation of turf AWOS access road, installation of gravel pad for AWOS equipment site, miscellaneous site work, and miscellaneous electrical work. All bids will be contained in a sealed envelope, as above provided; plainly marked showing that such envelope contains a bid for the above project. All bids are to be submitted on the basis of cash payment for the work and materials. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in a sum equal to five per cent (5%) of the full amount of the bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The bid security shall be in the form of a Bid Bond, certified check or cashier's check payable to the City of Princeton. The bid security is a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the contract, will enter into a contract for the work described in the contract documents. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect A contract shall be awarded on the basis of the low bid submitted by a responsible and responsive bidder for the aggregate sum of all bid items. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish Contract Performance and Payment Bonds in the full amount of the contract. This work on the improvement will start in Summer 2025 and be completed by no later than 23 calendar days from the start time charges, with the exception of Phase 3 removal of the existing AWOS equipment which shall not be completed until the new AWOS is commissioned by the FAA (see plan set for details). Phase 3 of the projects shall be completed within 7 calendar days from the start time charges for this phase of the project. Schedule based on issuance of Notice to Proceed on or before July 8, 2025, with time charges starting ten (10) calendar days aft The successful Bidder hereby agrees to commence and complete the work under this contract within the time schedule indicated and further agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum as shown for each consecutive calendar day thereafter as provided in the following schedule.
